Questions about the website plan
27 questions window, door and glazing business owners ask before booking a call, answered plainly. If yours isn't here, ask it on the call.
The plan and the price
What does the plan cost?
A$249 a month plus a one-off setup fee of A$499, GST may apply. There is one plan and one price, with no tiers, add-on packs or introductory rate that changes later. The first year comes to A$3,487 before any GST.
How long is the contract?
The minimum term is 12 months from the day your site goes live, not from the day you sign up. After that the plan runs month to month and either of us can end it with written notice before the next billing date.
Why is there a setup fee as well as a monthly fee?
They pay for different work. The setup fee pays for the build: planning the pages for your windows, doors and glass, laying out your content, setting up the quote form for how you price jobs, and connecting your domain. The monthly fee pays for keeping it running: hosting, the SSL certificate, security updates, your content edits and the enquiry report.
Is GST included in the price?
No. Prices are shown without GST because the plan is sold only to businesses. GST is added only if the operator is registered for GST when it invoices you, which is why the price reads "GST may apply". Once the registration is confirmed the site will say "plus GST" or "no GST charged".
Do you guarantee Google rankings or a number of enquiries?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. Rankings depend on your competitors, your Google Business Profile, your reviews and how long your business has been around, none of which a website controls on its own. What we control is the site: fast pages, a page for each product and area you want work in, and a quote form people finish. Google says there is no way to pay for a better local ranking.
Does the plan include Google Ads or Facebook ads?
No. Paid advertising and the ad spend are not included. If you run ads yourself or through someone else, we can point them at the right product page on your site as one of your monthly edits, so a click on an ad for acoustic glass lands on the acoustic glass page instead of the homepage.
Do you give window, glazing or energy advice?
No. Our trade is building and running websites, not glazing. We are not glaziers, window makers or WERS assessors. Every product detail, energy figure, price and warranty term on your site comes from you or from whoever makes the product. Our job is to lay it out so a buyer can follow it. We never invent a rating or write a claim you have not given us.
Getting the site built
What happens straight after the call?
If the plan suits your business and you decide to go ahead, you accept the plan terms and we send a content checklist. It asks for your business details, logo, job photos, the products and glass options you sell, the suburbs or towns you want work in, any prices you want shown and access to your domain. Send what you have. We tell you exactly what is still missing.
How quickly will my site be live?
Within 14 days of receiving everything on the content checklist. The clock starts when the content arrives, not when you sign up, so the fastest launches come from businesses that send photos and product lists in the first week.
Do you write the words for my website?
No. You supply the words, photos and prices, and we lay them out, tidy obvious typos and shape them into pages. The checklist asks plain questions, such as which frame materials you install and which suburbs you want jobs in, so you are answering questions rather than facing a blank page.
I have hardly any job photos. Can we still launch?
Yes. We launch with the product pages, quote form and service areas in place, and add photos as monthly edits as your jobs finish. A gallery of a few real installs is worth more than a page of stock photos, so we don't pad it with pictures that aren't your work.
Can I see the site before it goes live?
Yes. You get a preview link and nothing goes live until you have looked at every page. Changes you ask for at the review stage are part of the build and don't use your monthly edits.
I have no logo. Can you still build the site?
Yes. We set your business name in a clean typeface that suits the site. Logo and brand design aren't part of the plan, so if you want a designed logo you would arrange that separately and we swap it in as an edit.
Monthly edits and the report
What counts as a content edit?
One change you ask for on an existing page: new photos in the gallery, a product added to your range, a corrected energy rating, changed opening hours, a new suburb on your service areas page or updated prices. Up to 5 are included each month and unused edits don't carry over.
What is not a content edit?
New pages, new features and a redesign are outside the plan. If you want one, we tell you the price first and nothing is charged unless you agree to it.
How do I ask for a change?
Email or message us with what you want changed and attach anything we need, such as photos from a finished job or the new product sheet. There is no dashboard to learn and nothing for you to log in to.
What is in the monthly enquiry report?
A short summary of the enquiries your website received through its quote and contact forms that month. It shows you what the site is producing, so decisions about your website are based on what came in rather than a guess.
What the site can do
Can the site show WERS ratings for my windows?
Yes. Product pages can carry the rating details you supply for each frame and glass combination, such as star ratings, U-value and SHGC, with a note on where the figures come from. We only show figures you give us for the actual product, never a borrowed rating from a similar window.
What does the quote form ask?
Whatever you need to plan a measure or price a job before you ring back. For most window and glazing businesses that means suburb, the type of job, how many windows or doors, rough sizes, current frame material, the main goal (warmth, noise, security, a broken pane) and photos. The fields are set during the build to match how you quote.
Can I have separate paths for homeowners and builders?
Yes. A homeowner wants to understand the options and book a measure. A builder wants to send a window schedule or plans and get a price back. The site can give each its own page and form, so neither has to wade through questions meant for the other.
Will the site work on phones?
Yes. Every page is built for small screens first, because many people look up a glazier on their phone, often standing in front of the broken or draughty window. Google also uses the mobile version of a site for indexing.
Switching from the site you have now
What happens to the site we run now?
It keeps running until you sign off the new one. Early in the build we read through it, note the addresses of the pages that matter and keep any wording, photos or product detail worth carrying over. Where an old page has a clear replacement, say your double glazing page, the old address points at the new one, so a link sitting in an old quote email or a trade directory still lands somewhere useful.
Our domain and email sit with another provider. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Your domain stays exactly where it is, in your business name, with whoever you registered it through. All we need is enough access to aim it at the new site, and we work around the mail settings so your inbox keeps working through the switch.
Ownership and leaving
Who owns the domain name?
Your business does, from the first day. It sits with your registrar under your own name and you pay that registrar yourself, so nothing about it depends on us. End the plan and the domain simply stays where it is, and we help aim it wherever you want next.
Who owns the photos and words on the site?
Your business does. Everything you supply, including photos, product details and prices, stays yours. When the plan ends we send you a copy of the content you supplied on request.
What happens if I want to leave?
After the 12-month minimum term you can end the plan with written notice before your next billing date. The plan ends at the end of the month already paid for. We stop hosting the site, send you a copy of your content and help move your domain.
Can I end the plan during the first 12 months?
You can give notice, but the monthly fees for the rest of the minimum term remain payable, unless you are ending it because we seriously breached the terms and didn't fix it within 14 days. If you change your mind before we start the build, the setup fee is refunded in full. The plan terms set this out.
The full service terms are on the plan terms page. For prices laid out in one place, see pricing, and for features, what's included.
