What each fee pays for
The A$499 setup fee
Building your site: planning the pages for your windows, doors and glass, laying out your content, setting up the quote form fields for how you price jobs, service area pages, and connecting your domain. It is paid once.
The A$249 monthly fee
Hosting, the SSL certificate, security updates, up to 5 content edits and the monthly enquiry report. Billing starts from the month your site goes live.
Five faults we keep finding on window company sites
Nearly every glazing site we are asked to replace was built once, years ago, and left where it stood. These five faults turn up again and again, and each one quietly costs measure requests.
-
The range is buried on one page
Awning windows, stacker doors and acoustic glass share one scrolling page, so none of them can be found on its own.
-
The quote form asks for a message
Every enquiry needs a phone call just to learn the suburb, the window count and whether it is a repair or a whole house.
-
Energy claims with no figures
Builders and energy-conscious buyers want ratings for the exact frame and glass, and a vague claim sends them elsewhere.
-
Nobody updates it
New ranges, new prices and a year of installs never make it onto the site, because changing it means a login or an invoice.
-
Nobody knows what it produces
Without a record of the enquiries it received, there is no way to tell whether the website is earning its keep.
What the monthly fee buys, and why each part matters
Every line below is in the one plan. Nothing is an add-on and nothing is held back for a higher tier, because there isn't one.
-
Live within 14 days of your content
The clock starts when your photos and product list arrive, so you control the launch date.
-
A page for each product line
Each window style, door type and glass option can be found, and linked from a quote email or an ad.
-
A measure-and-quote form
Suburb, job type, window count, sizes, frames and photos, so the first call is about the job, not twenty questions.
-
Room for WERS figures
The ratings you supply sit next to the frame and glass combination they belong to.
-
Hosting, SSL and security updates
Nothing separate to pay, no certificate to chase every year, no plugin list waiting on you.
-
Up to 5 content edits a month
New installs, ranges, prices and suburbs go up without you logging in to anything.
-
A monthly enquiry report
What came through the forms that month, so you can check the site against your own quote book.
-
A preview before launch
Nothing goes live until you have checked every page, and corrections at that stage are part of the build.
Included and not included, in full
Written out here so there is nothing to discover later in the terms.
Included in the plan
- Your website live within 14 days of receiving your content.
- Hosting, SSL certificate and security updates.
- Up to 5 content edits a month.
- A monthly report of the enquiries your website received.
- A quote form set up with the fields your window jobs need, such as window count, sizes, frames and photos.
- Pages for your products, glass options and service areas, planned during the build.
- A preview to review before anything goes live.
Not included
- Paid advertising, such as Google Ads, and the ad spend.
- Logo or brand design.
- Writing your content: you supply the words, photos and prices, and we lay them out.
- Domain registration fees: the domain is registered in your business name and you pay the registrar.
- New features or a redesign beyond your monthly edits. We quote these first and nothing is charged without your agreement.
We don't promise Google positions, traffic or a number of enquiries. See the plan terms.
What counts as a content edit
One change you ask for on an existing page. Send it by email or message, attach what we need, and we make the change.
- Photos from last week's installs added to the gallery
- A new door range added to the doors page
- A corrected WERS figure on a product page
- A new town on your service areas page
- Updated prices or winter hours
Up to 5 a month. Unused edits don't carry over. New pages, new features or a redesign are quoted first, and nothing is charged without your agreement.
Work that happens whether you send anything or not
- Host the site and keep an eye on it
- Keep the SSL certificate current
- Apply security updates to the site's code and hosting
- Send the monthly report of enquiries the site received
Before this plan, and after it
How a typical window company site looks when we first see it, and how the same business looks once the plan is running.
| What matters | As we usually find it | As we build it |
|---|---|---|
| Product pages | One "Windows" page for everything | A page per window style, door type and glass option |
| Quote requests | Name, email and a message | Suburb, job type, count, sizes, frames and photos |
| Energy ratings | "Energy efficient", no figures | The WERS figures you supply, per product |
| Service area | A paragraph listing every suburb in the state | An areas page that matches your Google Business Profile |
| Changes | A login you forgot, or a quote per change | Up to 5 edits a month, sent by email |
| Results | Nobody knows | A monthly report of the enquiries received |
The minimum term, stated plainly
The plan runs for at least 12 months from the day your site goes live. The setup fee is paid once, at the start. After month 12 it continues month to month until either of us ends it.
| After | Setup | Monthly fees | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 year | A$499 | A$2,988 | A$3,487 |
| 2 years | A$499 | A$5,976 | A$6,475 |
| 3 years | A$499 | A$8,964 | A$9,463 |
If you end the plan during the minimum term, the monthly fees for the rest of that term remain payable, unless you end it because we seriously breached the terms and didn't fix the problem within 14 days. The plan terms set out cancelling in full.
How the plan compares with a DIY builder or a one-off agency build
Described in general terms. Prices and terms vary widely between builders and agencies, so check the details of any quote you get. For the fuller picture, including running on a Facebook page only, see compare your options.
| What you get | This plan | DIY website builder | One-off agency build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who builds it | We do, from the content you supply | You do, from a template | The agency does, to a brief |
| Upfront cost | A$499 setup fee | Usually low, plus your own time | Usually the largest single payment of the three |
| Ongoing cost | A$249 a month, GST may apply | Builder subscription, often with paid add-ons for forms or bookings | Hosting and maintenance billed separately, if offered at all |
| Changes after launch | Up to 5 edits a month included | You make them, when you find the time | Often quoted and billed per change |
| Pages for products, glass and areas | Planned in from the start | Only if you build them | Depends on the brief and budget |
| Quote form fields for window jobs | Set up for how you quote | Generic form unless you customise it | Depends on the brief |
| Commitment | 12-month minimum, then month to month | Usually monthly or yearly subscription | Paid per project; ownership terms vary |
| Domain | In your business name | Often bought through the builder; check whose name it is in | Check whose name it is registered in |
The four things owners push back on
The last website we bought never brought us a job
Usually because it was handed over and then nobody touched it again for three years. Here the edits keep coming every month and the enquiry report tells you what arrived, so the site is either earning its keep or you can see plainly that it is not. What we will never do is put a number of jobs on it, because nobody can honestly promise that.
I'm not technical
You don't need to be. There is no dashboard to learn. You send photos, prices or changes by email or message and we put them up.
What do I have to supply?
Your logo if you have one, job photos, the products and glass options you sell, the suburbs or towns you cover and any prices you want shown. We send a checklist after the call.
What if I want to leave?
After 12 months you give notice before your next billing date. You keep your domain, we send a copy of your content and help you move it.
Why the price says "GST may apply"
The plan is sold only to businesses. A business showing prices only to other businesses doesn't need to include GST 1 in the displayed price. Whether GST is added depends on the operator's registration: businesses under the turnover threshold that haven't registered don't include GST in their prices 2 . Once the operator confirms its registration, this page will say either "plus GST" or "no GST charged".
Pricing questions
What does the plan cost?
A$249 a month plus a one-off setup fee of A$499, GST may apply. There is one plan and one price, with no tiers, add-on packs or introductory rate that changes later. The first year comes to A$3,487 before any GST.
How long is the contract?
The minimum term is 12 months from the day your site goes live, not from the day you sign up. After that the plan runs month to month and either of us can end it with written notice before the next billing date.
Why is there a setup fee as well as a monthly fee?
They pay for different work. The setup fee pays for the build: planning the pages for your windows, doors and glass, laying out your content, setting up the quote form for how you price jobs, and connecting your domain. The monthly fee pays for keeping it running: hosting, the SSL certificate, security updates, your content edits and the enquiry report.
Is GST included in the price?
No. Prices are shown without GST because the plan is sold only to businesses. GST is added only if the operator is registered for GST when it invoices you, which is why the price reads "GST may apply". Once the registration is confirmed the site will say "plus GST" or "no GST charged".
Do you guarantee Google rankings or a number of enquiries?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. Rankings depend on your competitors, your Google Business Profile, your reviews and how long your business has been around, none of which a website controls on its own. What we control is the site: fast pages, a page for each product and area you want work in, and a quote form people finish. Google says there is no way to pay for a better local ranking.
Does the plan include Google Ads or Facebook ads?
No. Paid advertising and the ad spend are not included. If you run ads yourself or through someone else, we can point them at the right product page on your site as one of your monthly edits, so a click on an ad for acoustic glass lands on the acoustic glass page instead of the homepage.
Do you give window, glazing or energy advice?
No. Our trade is building and running websites, not glazing. We are not glaziers, window makers or WERS assessors. Every product detail, energy figure, price and warranty term on your site comes from you or from whoever makes the product. Our job is to lay it out so a buyer can follow it. We never invent a rating or write a claim you have not given us.
Who owns the domain name?
Your business does, from the first day. It sits with your registrar under your own name and you pay that registrar yourself, so nothing about it depends on us. End the plan and the domain simply stays where it is, and we help aim it wherever you want next.
Who owns the photos and words on the site?
Your business does. Everything you supply, including photos, product details and prices, stays yours. When the plan ends we send you a copy of the content you supplied on request.
What happens if I want to leave?
After the 12-month minimum term you can end the plan with written notice before your next billing date. The plan ends at the end of the month already paid for. We stop hosting the site, send you a copy of your content and help move your domain.
Can I end the plan during the first 12 months?
You can give notice, but the monthly fees for the rest of the minimum term remain payable, unless you are ending it because we seriously breached the terms and didn't fix it within 14 days. If you change your mind before we start the build, the setup fee is refunded in full. The plan terms set this out.
